National Memorial Service to be held in honour of Fire and Emergency Services

WA BAL Report announces that the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC) will hold a National Memorial Service in honour of Fire and Emergency Services workers and volunteers. The Service will be held on Friday 29 April 2016 at Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, ACT to recognise the sacrifice and commitment of those who put their lives on the line to save others, and those who have lost their lives while on duty.

This is the second annual National Memorial Service and is an important step towards making an annual day of recognition a permanent tradition. The inaugural memorial service was held in May 2015 to honour and acknowledge the sacrifice of the men and women who had recently died in the bushfires, and was attended by almost 300 members of family and friends of emergency service personnel.

WA BAL Report supports and recognises the efforts of the Fire and Emergency Services workers and volunteers, who are responsible for saving many lives. WA BAL Report also thanks the AFAC for holding the National Memorial Service and hopes the Service will be memorable.
